A: It all depends on how fast the washer fills with water, the temperature setting of the water, the water level setting and how long the wash cycle is set for. Roughly you can figure on 20-30 minutes.

This new standard is the second in a family of product sustainability standards under development by AHAM, CSA Group, and UL intended for use by manufacturers, governments, retailers, and others to identify environmentally preferable products. Monitoring a clothes washer with an accelerometer - Hack a Day

[Viktor's] washing machine did a good job of cleaning his clothes, but it kept a bit too quiet about it. The machine doesn’t have an audible alert to let him know the cycle has finished. He decided to build his own alarm which can just be slapped on the side of the machine.
